Leigh Rumbold

Director of Coaching and Player Development, Coach of 04 Boys Black, 06 Boys Black, 07 Boys Black, 10 Girls Black, 13 Girls Black

Leigh hails from Heatherside, England. He currently holds a USSF C level license and a FA Level 2 coaching license. Prior to arriving at Saline FC in 2013, Leigh had made over 250 competitive appearances for semi-professional sides Farnborough Town, Fleet Town and Slough Town football clubs in his native England. In 2015 Leigh had a spell in New Zealand, winning the Lotto Federation league with Team Taranaki. More recently, Leigh has represented, and had league successes with local sides Lansing United and AFC Ann Arbor in the NPSL.

Kevin Taylor

9v9 Technical Director, coach of 07 Girls Black, 07 Boys Gold, 08 Boys Black, 09 Girls Black, and 09 Boys Black,

Coach Kevin brings some significant creed to the field as a four year Florida ODP player, a four year starter at U of M, and a professional career that includes playing MLS for the Colorado Rapids. He’s the highest scoring defender in U of M history and the first U of M player to be drafted into MLS. He has coached at other local clubs including the Michigan Tigers and MPSA Crush. He currently holds a USSF D level license.


Sebastian Lindner

7v7 Technical Director, coach of 10 Boys Black, 10 Boys Gold, and 11 Boys Black

Sebastian grew up in Berlin, Germany and started playing soccer when he was 5 years old. During his youth, he played for SC Charlottenburg which is one of the biggest clubs in Berlin. Because of multiple injuries during his time as a player, he never made the move to one of the bigger clubs. Instead, Sebastian started coaching. He began his coaching career with one of the best coaches in Berlin. Sebastian has an E Level license as well as a Level A coaching certification through the German Soccer Association which is for coaching ages 7 to 12.


Victor Plase

Coach of 04 Girls Black, 05 Girls Black, 05 Boys Black, 06 Girls Black, 06 Girls Gold, 06 Boys Gold, and 13 Boys Black

Victor was born in Togo, but spent some years in Ghana growing up and playing soccer there through the academics. When he moved to Lyon, France to continue playing, he decided and chose to pursue his educational goals first. From Saline High, he now attends the Oakland University's graduate program and played there during his undergraduate. Victor is the Head Coach for all Milan Men's and Women's High School teams. He is an MSYSA - ODP Coach. Victor holds an D license certificate. He started working with Saline FC a few years ago starting with the REC and has since fallen in love with the organization, parents and the kids.

Haitham Gazal

Coach of 08 Girls Black and 12 Boys Black

Haitham grew up in Dubai, UAE and started playing soccer at a young age. He played soccer through high school and moved to Toledo Ohio to pursue his college degree. There he played college soccer throughout his educational years. Currently Haitham still enjoys playing soccer, indoor, futsal and MUSL outdoor soccer. He started coaching Rec in 2012 and fell in love with coaching the game. Haitham currently holds a USSF C license. Prior to arriving at Saline FC, he coached select/premier teams at WWSL Arsenal.

Nick Marecle

Coach of 08 Girls Gold,  10 Girls Gold, 11 Girls Black, 11 Boys Gold, 13 Boys Gold

Nick was raised in Ypsilanti till the age of 4 and moved to Saline and has been living here since. He started playing soccer when he was 5 years old with Saline Area Soccer Association (currently Saline FC) being his organization to play through. He went on and played club soccer at WCC for a year and half. He coached in Milan for their recreational group and later a year and a half for their Travel program. Nick currently holds a USSF D-License.

Austin Valentine

Director of Goalkeeping, Coach of 12 Girls Black, 14 Girls Black, and 14 Boys Black

Austin will be starting his role of Director of Goalkeeping in June 2021, as well as coaching some teams. Austin previously spent a number of years coaching at Liverpool Ann Arbor. He is the current Goalkeeping Coach at UofM Dearborn and the Varsity Boys at Saline High School. Coach Austin also serves as the Saline Varsity Girls Assistant Coach.

John Kacic

Goalkeeper Trainer

John grew up in North Ridgeville,  just west of Cleveland, Ohio.  He started out as a young field player, but found out that his passion was really in the Goal Keeper position.  He played travel soccer from 3rd grade to his senior year in High School.  He was the starting Varsity GK all 4 years and was named to the All-Conference County team his junior and senior years.  After focusing on his career and getting married to his wife Stacey, he chose Saline to build their first house and started their family.  He has 2 sons, Jacob and Zack, who both played in the travel league for Saline FC in their younger years.  Both sons wanted to play GK like their dad so he started training his sons and pursuing his GK NSCAA diplomas.  Currently he is a Level 3 GK Coach and enjoys working with GKs that want to push themselves and learn this unique GK position. 

Sarah Livesey

Assistant Coach

Sarah was born and raised in Saline, MI. Sarah started playing for Saline Area Soccer Association (currently Saline FC) when she was 4 years old. Sarah played for Saline Swarm 97’ Black from age 10 to age 16. She then played for Michigan Alliance FC, now known as Legends FC, for the remainder of her club career. She was a starter on Saline High School’s varsity team for 3 years and went on to win a state championship title her senior year in 2015. She received all-conference, all-district, all-region, and all-state honorable mention honors following her senior season. She went on to play for Grand Valley State University’s women’s club soccer team and was a four-year starter, as well as named MVP her sophomore season. While at GVSU, Sarah completed a bachelor’s degree in allied health science with an emphasis in speech-language pathology. Currently Sarah is enrolled in Eastern Michigan University’s speech-language pathology master’s degree program. 

Samantha Kersey

Coach in 2020/2021

Samantha was born and raised in Clinton, MI.  She began playing soccer at the age of 4.  Samantha played competitively for Michigan Rush and earned a 4 year varsity starter award for Clinton High School.  She continued competitively for Tiffin University.  Prior to joining Saline FC, Samantha coached for the Clinton youth soccer program, additionally volunteering for Clinton youth soccer camps from 2010-2016.  Samantha served as assistant coach for Clinton High School Varsity Women’s soccer team 2013-2016.
