Leigh Rumbold

Director of Coaching and Player Development, coach of 08 Swarm Black, 08 Swarm Gold, 09 Swarm Black, 09 Swarm Gold

Leigh hails from Heatherside, England. He currently holds a USSF D level license and a FA Level 2 coaching license. Prior to arriving at Saline FC in 2013, Leigh had made over 250 competitive appearances for semi-professional sides Farnborough Town, Fleet Town and Slough Town football clubs in his native England. In 2015 Leigh had a spell in New Zealand, winning the Lotto Federation league with Team Taranaki. More recently, Leigh has represented, and had league successes with local sides Lansing United and AFC Ann Arbor in the NPSL.

Kevin Taylor

9v9 Technical Director, coach of 07 Sting Black, 07 Sting Gold, 09 Sting Black, 09 Sting Gold

Coach Kevin brings some significant creed to the field as a four year Florida ODP player, a four year starter at U of M, and a professional career that includes playing MLS for the Colorado Rapids. He’s the highest scoring defender in U of M history and the first U of M player to be drafted into MLS. He’s currently the head varsity coach at Ann Arbor Pioneer and has coached at other local clubs including the Michigan Tigers and MPSA Crush.


 



Sebastian Lindner

7v7 Technical Director, coach of 10 Sting Black and 11 Sting Black

Sebastian grew up in Berlin, Germany and started playing soccer when he was 5 years old. During his youth, he played for SC Charlottenburg which is one of the biggest clubs in Berlin. Because of multiple injuries during his time as a player, he never made the move to one of the bigger clubs. Instead, Sebastian started coaching. He began his coaching career with one of the best coaches in Berlin. Sebastian has an E Level license as well as a Level A coaching certification through the German Soccer Association which is for coaching ages 7 to 12.


 



Victor Plase

Coach of 05 Sting Black, 08 Sting Black and 08 Sting Gold

Victor was born in Togo, but spent some years in Ghana growing up and playing soccer there through the academics. When he moved to Lyon, France to continue playing, he decided and chose to pursue his educational goals first. From Saline High, he now attends Oakland University and will be playing there as well. Victor holds an D license certificate. He started working with Saline FC a few years ago starting with the REC and has since fallen in love with the organization, parents and the kids.


 



Samantha Kersey

Coach of 03 Swarm Gold, 05 Swarm Black, 11 Swarm Black and 12 Swarm Black

Samantha was born and raised in Clinton, MI.  She began playing soccer at the age of 4.  Samantha played competitively for Michigan Rush and earned a 4 year varsity starter award for Clinton High School.  She continued competitively for Tiffin University.  Prior to joining Saline FC, Samantha coached for the Clinton youth soccer program, additionally volunteering for Clinton youth soccer camps from 2010-2016.  Samantha served as assistant coach for Clinton High School varsity women’s soccer team 2013-2016.


 



Craig MacMorland

Coach of 03 Swarm Black, 03 Sting Black, 06 Sting Black, 06 Swarm Black and 07 Swarm Black

Craig was born and raised on the west coast of Scotland. He played pro youth development until an injury plagued season led him to coaching. While studying sport and exercise science in Edinburgh (Scotland) where he coached and played at the university. He completed a master’s degree in sports coaching and performance analysis at Stirling University (Scotland). He also has his USSF & UEFA C Licenses.  Craig has over 13 years coaching experience as a youth coach, director of coaching, high school and college. Craig prides himself upon always being a student to the many aspects of the game.

Jason Bengel

Coach of 10 Swarm Black and 11 Sting Gold

Jason has been coaching for over 17 years, with winning records at the elementary, middle, and high school level. He is currently coaching the Varsity Women and the JV Men coach at Lincoln High School. His formal club experience was as the Director of Player Development at South Oakland County Soccer. He hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management, has a USSF D lisence and is a USSF C candidate.




Ian Bernstein

Coach of 06 Sting Gold 

Ian was born and raised in Irvington, New York, where he began playing soccer at the age of 4. He played competitively for local clubs including Rivertowns FC, White Plains FC, and Rye FC, and was also a 3-year varsity starter for Irvington High School. Ian continued to play competitively throughout college for Maize FC at the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Saline FC, Ian served as an assistant coach for the boys varsity soccer program in his hometown.




Spencer Ward

Goalkeeper Trainer

Spencer played in the US Developmental Academy for four seasons with Michigan Wolves and Vardar Academy. He was ranked #2 defense in the country as starting keeper in 2012/13. He lead the defense to a 3rd place finish in the Academy National Finals. Spencer was invited to the US National Team training combine in 2013 and trained with US National Team Keeper Coach Aron Hyde. He spent this summer with AFC Ann Arbor in the NPSL, and has experience in the PDL with Michigan Bucks. Being the current goalkeeper for Concordia University, after transferring from Coastal Carolina he will bring a lot of experience to Saline FC




Sarah Livesey

Assistant Coach of 08 Swarm Black and Gold

Sarah was born and raised in Saline, MI. Sarah started playing for Saline Area Soccer Association when she was 4 years old. Sarah played for Saline Swarm 97’ Black from age 10 to age 16. She then played for Michigan Alliance FC, now known as Legends FC, for the remainder of her club career. She was a starter on Saline High School’s varsity team for 3 years and went on to win a state championship title her senior year in 2015. She received all-conference, all-district, all-region, and all-state honorable mention honors following her senior season. She went on to play for Grand Valley State University’s women’s club soccer team and was a four-year starter, as well as named MVP her sophomore season. While at GVSU, Sarah completed a bachelor’s degree in allied health science with an emphasis in speech-language pathology. Currently Sarah is enrolled in Eastern Michigan University’s speech-language pathology master’s degree program.
