FINANCIAL AID POLICY

Saline FC strives to provide an affordable soccer experience for all our participants. We understand the financial commitments related to soccer and are committed to working with our families to be sure every child can enjoy playing soccer within our club.

To help families budget for their specific travel soccer program, we offer the flexibility of using an installment payment plan for the Select and Premier players. By going through the regular travel registration process, families can choose the three-installment payment plan. This can minimize the financial impact of having to pay for the full program up-front.

If the timing and amount of the offered installment plan are not sufficient to meet your family’s needs and you have the ability to pay the full amount of your annual membership dues, we are happy to work with your family on an alternative payment plan.

While the installment plan helps the majority of our travel families make the soccer year affordable, some families may still need financial assistance in order for their child(ren) to participate. Saline FC offers aid to players who demonstrate need. If your family needs financial assistance for the upcoming soccer year/season, please complete the financial aid form.

Recreational players may apply for financial aid awards prior to registering your player each season. Please complete the financial aid form and specify your desired aid request. Send an email to [email protected] to let us know you applied for a financial aid reward.

FINANCIAL AID AWARDS

Saline FC awards financial aid to suit individual family need. Awards will be granted based on your family’s income, number of children, player(s) age(s), player’s/family’s relevant history within Saline FC, the number of applicants and the budgeted amount available for financial aid awards.

Financial aid awards are only given for club registration. They are not designated for extracurricular training, summer camps, spring break camps or uniforms.

FINANCIAL AID COMMITTEE

The Saline FC Financial Committee, comprised of Saline FC Board Members, makes decisions regarding financial aid, including whether a family qualifies for aid and the amount awarded. Financial aid applications will only be reviewed by the Financial Committee. All information will remain confidential.

There are external costs, such as registration with the Michigan Youth Soccer Association, to the club for players receiving financial aid. Because of this, the total amount awarded to a player by the club will not exceed 80% except forextraordinary circumstances.

PROOF OF NEED

Families can qualify for financial assistance based on two criteria:
1) Current qualification for free or reduced school lunch; or
2) Extenuating financial circumstances.
Free or reduced lunch is the first criteria that is reviewed. If your family does not qualify for assistance based on that criteria, then the extenuating financial circumstance criteria will be considered.

If your family qualifies based on free or reduced lunch, documentation of this must be submitted with the application. For those applying based on the second criteria, there is a section on the application that allows for the explaining of your family’s unique, specific circumstances.

VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT

Each family that receives financial aid will be required to complete some volunteer service. Volunteers are needed throughout the year for tournaments, field set up and tear down and many other club events. At times, the Board, Executive Director, the Club Administrator, or the Director of Coaching may reach out to our financial aid recipients with volunteer opportunities. It also remains the responsibility of the family to seek out volunteer hours.

Volunteer hours will be considered when reckoning future requests for financial aid awards. If a family does not volunteer, further awards may not be considered. Though we keep track, please provide an email to [email protected] with the volunteer dates and hours your family provided for Saline FC.
